The 2023 Giant mountain bike lineup is outlined below, to give you an idea of what they have to offer in the world of mountain bikes.
We have tried to organize this in such a way that it makes it easier to narrow down your options, depending on the type of mountain biking and the type of mountain bike you’re looking for.
We have grouped Giant’s Mountain Bikes into the categories that we see them best fitting in. And included a few specs that might factor into what you’re looking for.
Note that some bikes might be on the cuff between two categories, e.g. XC and Trail. We have put them where we see them fitting best, but these aren’t completely black and white and you could certainly make an argument for some to be within another category or span two categories.
Giant 2023 MTB COLLECTION BY CATEGORY
Below is the 2023 Giant mountain bike collection categorized. This is according to the categories here at MTbprofiles and may not align exactly with how Giant has labeled them. There is a total of 54 bikes classified below, under 6 different categories. Note that we only classify their mountain bikes and not other types of bikes that they might produce.
Giant Cross Country (XC) Bikes
Giant call the Talon E+ Trail, but for us it has all the characteristics of XC, including hard tail, head tube angle and fork travel.
NAME OF BIKE | PRICE | CATEGORY | suspension | electric | wheel size | tire width | travel |

Talon E+ 3 | $2,300 | XC | Hard Tail | eMTB | 29" | 2.4" | 100mm |
Giant Trail Bikes
It was a tight call on the Anthem Advanced Pro 29ers. Giant classify this as XC, and you could certainly argue it is. With a 67.5° headtube angle and 110mm of travel, it certainly leads to being XC, but we are reluctant to put anything into the XC category that has dual suspension. The dual suspension was what tipped it for us.
We also debated the Stance a little bit. The headtube angle of 67.5° more XC, but travel and tire width and dual suspension tip it trail for us.
Finally the Trance X was also a tight call. This time being very close to Enduro. You could really call them either, in our opinion. But the fact that the rest of the Trance series are clearly Trail, that was the tiebreaker to classify them as trail. But if you wanted to call them Enduro bikes, we wouldn't consider that wrong either.

Giant Enduro Bikes
These were mostly straightforward with the only real question mark being the Reign SX, which is borderline downhill. But we still think it's more enduro, mostly because of it's headtube angle, and whilst the travel could fit with both Enduro and Downhill (according to our categories) the head tube angle (63.1° or 63.5°) tips it Enduro for us.

LET US KNOW WHAT YOU THINK
Hopefully this has helped to see the Giant lineup in an easy to digest way.
As noted we debated the classification of some of the models, but most were pretty straight forward for us. Are there any bikes above that you would categorized differently?
Also, if you’ve ever ridden a Giant mountain bike, would love to hear your thoughts on that, too.
